Abby Terkuhle
Abby Terkuhle has over 20 years of extensive commercial television
promotion, production and series experience. He is the founder and
president of Aboriginal Entertainment, a New York firm that produces
original programming for film and television, as well as digital
content across multiple media platforms. At Aboriginal, Abby developed
and currently serves as executive producer for Artstar, an eight-part
unscripted high definition series set in the New York art world with
Deitch Projects for Gallery HD.
Most recently Abby was founder and president of MTV Animation, the
network’s full-service production studio. MTV Animation produced
such critically acclaimed and commercially successful TV hits as
Aeon Flux, Beavis and Butt-head, Daria, Celebrity Deathmatch and
the theatrical hit, Beavis and Butt-head Do America, which Abby also
produced.
As Creative Director at MTV: Music Television, he spearheaded MTV’s
award winning, in-house advertising and on-air promotions, establishing
MTV as one of the most recognized global brands in entertainment.
His interest in new forms of animation changed the look of MTV with
groundbreaking station identification and art breaks, short and full
length animated programming, beginning with the Emmy Award winning
Liquid Television.
Earlier in his career, Abby was a film segment producer for NBC’s
Saturday Night Live and a producer for Showtime/The Movie Channel.
He is the recipient of numerous prestigious television programming,
marketing, and promotion accolades including the Emmy, Clio, Cable
Ace, Broadcast Design and Promax Awards. He holds a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Communications from Loyola University and currently lives
in New York City with his wife and daughter. |
